A New Day, A New Blog

Phoenix, the mythical bird who rises from the ashes of its former life to live again.  The phoenix is a sign of renewal and hope.  Now, with more time on my hands, I have refreshed a former blog and from its "ashes" rises a new blog, Our Costa Rican Life.  There are posts written some years ago just after Mother died.  I have left those in place.  Other posts I have deleted in order to start with a blank canvas.

I retired some months ago and Nidia and I relocated back to Costa Rica from Fort Worth, Texas.  It has been a fulfilling journey.  This blog has a goal of chronicling a bit of that journey in addition to throwing in tidbits of our new, day to day, life here in Costa Rica.  

There are several projects that will from time to time appear on the blog.  There are a few that are rattling around in my head that hopefully will come to fruition.  

The major effort, however, will be focused on putting my life story on paper.  The initial plan is to post chapter by chapter as they are completed.  Sort of like a serial, or some may think a soap opera.  The blog will certainly be very eclectic as our new life in Costa Rica is already full of stories to tell and experiences to share.

The picture of a phoenix you see here looks very ominous, almost demonic.  But, in reality it's just the opposite.  From the fire comes renewal.  Visit often and check out new content and feel free to chime in on the stories in the comments.
